Winston A. Wardlaw grew up in Washington, D.C., where he enjoyed spending time with family, drawing, learning Tae Kwon Do, and playing soccer with his brother and close friends. He graduated from North Carolina Agricultural and Technical State University with a B.S. in Food and Nutritional Sciences, and he is currently studying to attain a professional doctorate in Acupuncture and Chinese Herbal Medicine.
Winston has been intimately connected with health since he was a child, and at age 13, when he experienced the debilitating effects of the chronic disease ulcerative colitis, he embarked on a transformative journey. He has spent years observing masters of conventional and ancient healing arts and has gained empirical, lived opportunities to apply profound life lessons. These early-life experiences have been central to overcoming the conflict of his health journey, attaining greater personal health, and creating harmony in his life.
Some of his notable achievements include speaking on the National Mall as the Honored Hero for the Crohn’s and Colitis Foundation and becoming a Lewis and Elizabeth Dowdy Scholar, working at the National Institutes of Health (NIH) and in Silicon Valley, and co-founding a production company, Muscle n Bone, LLC, that has published an educational math app (Minute by Minute) and two video games (Hoops n Brickz and Tap n Score).
However, Winston’s greatest joys include spending invaluable quality time with loved ones, supporting the efforts of community farmers, playing soccer and basketball with friends, spending time in nature, learning about the empowering effects of meditation and self-knowledge, and being able to live with greater peace and purpose.
Winston’s goals are to consistently put the 10 Meditations into practice and to help create a world that reflects greater harmony and light.
